Cibona Embarass Drazen Petrovic, At Least The Fans Say So
gol.hr
Former Croatian powerhouse KK Cibona Zagreb have been trying to cope with financial problems for a couple of years now and by the looks of it, things are not going according to the plan -if there is one- in Zagreb.
After the team’s defeat to Zadar in the final four stage of the Cosiceva Cup, fans went creative and tied the eyes of the statue of the beloved Croatian legend, Drazen Petrovic, leaving a note underneath saying ”Kapetane, ne gledaj ovo”, “Captain, don’t watch this”.

Petrovic is always embraced as one of the very best players Europe have offered to the world. After his tragic death in 1993, ties between Petrovic and Croatia got even stronger and his figure has been a national symbol for the Balkan country since then. Considering Petrovic’s importance to the country and the fans, this is not a good sign for the 2-time Euroleague champions.
